Amongst other happenings: the rebuilding Sens demolish the Rangers, the Blues get a crucial 2 points in Arizona thanks to Gibson's goaltending, the Flyers grit out their own crucial win in Tampa Bay, and the 'Canes newcomers almost help them break their 16-game winless streak except they didn't and instead gave up a shortie with a little over 2 minutes left and the game winner without even pulling their goalie.

Also completely forgot about Gailev reaching 1000 games for my Leafs after being drafted in the first EHEC draft. And he hasn't missed a game in 10 seasons(800+ games)
