And so it begins! To those who were impatiently waiting, too bad 😛 (but also when's the draft? 🙃)

The Sharks managed to burst out the gates with a Zibanejad goal 62 seconds in, followed by a pair of Faksa goals around 7min and then 30 seconds into the second, putting them in a great spot to pick up the win...
... but then they gave up three goals in the third, and Malkin potted the winner in overtime.

Off to Chicago, where things were back and forth, Chicago scoring early, Anaheim tying it up, then Cuma made it 2-1 barely 6min into the first. The teams traded goals in the second, first Bahl, then Hertl, so again the home team was looking decent going into the third...
... but then Anaheim scored three straight to start the period. Chicago got one back in the 50th minute, but the Ducks pulled away with two more goals (fun fact - there were 11 different goal scorers in that game)

No third period collapse in Los Angeles, as the Wild didn't blow their 4-0 lead, though Gildon did end the shutout bid with 7 seconds left in the game.

Finally the Blues took an even game one, 4-3, which somewhat oddly featured no goals in the 2nd period.

That means all four road teams took game 1, while the eight teams were a combined 0 for 19 on the powerplay ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
