NYI stave off elimination despite being outshot 36-18 by putting up 5 goals on OTT's Stolarz, ending several long goal/point droughts in the process.

TB are the first and only team to advance to round two, with Mirko Hoeflin's early OT winner and Price's acceptable goaltending sending Leafs fans home devastated (I am used to this).

The two remaining series are more dramatic:

Four straight first goals of the playoffs take a 1-1 MTL-NYR game to 3-3, with Etham Bear tying things up with 3 minutes to go for the blueshirts. However, Shea Weber's blast early in OT sends bleu-blanc-et-rougechemise fans home happy (boo), tying the series at 2-2. MTL's 2/6 PP was key.

Lastly, over in Newark NJD crack open PHI's Spencer Knight, scoring 3 goals in the 3rd period of a previously 3-3 game to tie that series at two-two too.

No one gets 2 in the playoffs. Yeesh. Nichushkin final scores his first. Hooray. MTL wins. Boo.

Well it's a best-of-3 with 2 in NY. Shrug. Can't ask for more against a good opponent I suppose.
