GM Renney is seen running to his team's draft table. "Excellent news, I've found some new scouting info on this Czechian kid. Could be a real steal, we've moved up to get him!"

The Sabres scouting staff seem pleasantly surprised before AGM Lindy Ruff pipes up to ask, "So who is this kid anyway?"

"You won't believe this!" smiles the GM. "Ales Cech. He's the son of legendary football keeper Petr Cech. With bloodlines like that he has to be good. His dad even played pro hockey." The scouting staff stares on in disbelief as the GM stands elated over his recent move. "Our defence has been rebuilt in a single draft, isn't it great?"

Quietly from behind the other scouts Max Afinogenov squeaks out, "But he's 20."

There is visible commotion at the Sabres draft table.

GM Renney stops dead. "Are you kidding?" The scouts look on, unsure if they should speak. "Next you're going to tell me he isn't even Petr's kid. Now that would be bad news." No one dares move. They only stand, plain faced. "Well fuck me sideways then. Is there anyone else we can take? ... No? ... Fine. If anyone asks this was intentional. Something about picking a 20 year old to get him into the AHL faster. Yeah, that's it. We did it to get the AHL squad going faster.. Go make the pick Max, you're head of Euro Scouting." Begrudgingly, Afinogenov slinks toward the stage.
