Tonight was a double sim, which means we got four games instead of two.

In the west, Minnesota steals game 1 and home ice advantage, jumping out to a 6-1 lead before holding off JVR’s one man comeback effort. The Sharks meanwhile, despite losing 3 two goal leads and giving up two short handed goals just manage to hold off LA on and take game one in OT.

In the east, Ottawa runs up a 4-1 victory over Pittsburgh despite the efforts of Jack Campbell. In Tampa the Leafs run up a 5-0 lead through 41 minutes, and while the Bolts manage to score three in the following 6 minutes, the offence dries up for the last 10 minutes and Toronto takes game 1.
