Draft Preview/Review Rewards 2012

Post by Virtual Jarmo »

What I'll do this year is have three different tiers of rewards. One for people who did a preview and a review, one for people who did one or the other, and one for people who did it, but did it late.

Here's the list:

Both
Columbus
San Jose
Florida
Dallas
Toronto
Edmonton
New York
Calgary
Tampa Bay
Phoenix
Washington

Preview OR Review
Chicago
Winnipeg
Pittsburgh

Late
Carolina

Going to come up with some creative rewards now.

Both Rewards (First Rounders are NOT eligible)
+2 CON to every 2012 draftee, cannot make player into booster (if player can become booster, +3 to two fifth, sixth or seventh rounders)
18 ceiling points to random draftee (3 per main six categories) (3 available)
Co-design own player to add to prospect pool (restrictions to be posted after winner revealed)
Add an inch of height to prospect selected at random
+15 PE AND +15 FA ceiling (if C) or +15 SK ceiling (LW/RW/D)
Reincarnate ex-NHLer as 7POT prospect of your own (restrictions to be posted after winner revealed)
Extra underager on farm and +5 CON to 2012 goaltender draftee
Additional $1,000,000 in cap space for just 2012-13 OR +10 SH/PL ceiling AND +10 CH/PO ceiling to randomly selected 2012 draftee
Creation in 2013 draft class, free pick #241 to draft self, extra underager on farm AND historic staff member eligible to be head coach

Preview OR Review Awards
12 ceiling points to random draftee (2 per main six categories)
Extra underager on farm
One free booster (no $250,000 added at drafting; $250,000 (or more) added if player boosts per regular policy) AND six ceiling points (spread evenly over 3 OF or 3 DF categories) to randomly selected 2012 draftee

Late
TBD

I will randomly select these later tonight.

Here's where you're screwed, Pat. Since your Rangers picked the entire fifth round of the draft, chances are one of those bums is going to get picked at random instead of an actual asset. Bwa ha ha.

You know he'll get the +2 CON to every draftee. That way, it's, what, 34 CON points?

No, I'm going to get the bonus to a 2012 goalie draftee....since the only thing I didn't take was a goalie. :|

But you get an extra underager out of it, so that's not all bad.

I bet Phoenix wins the extra inch of height, and it goes to Philip Tot. Or Trevor Carrick.

On the other hand, if it goes to Denis Vanin, and then he boosts...

You guys can always take bets on it while I work on the two things I have to finish before I draw the reward winners.

I was about to suggest that was the worst reward ever, but Dotchin actually might do alright with some extra points and it beats getting free ceiling points for a prospect whose develop doesn't involve ceilings or an extra inch of height that won't take him over any kind of threshold. What's the deal with the "free booster" Pittsburgh got?

I think it means the player won't cost more?

As for Severson....well it's okay. At least now he can skate.

He doesn't have to add the additional $250k to the booster's salary.

He still has to pay if the player boosts.

So, for example, if he drafts a 1M slot player that is a booster, he'd cost 1.25M base + additional money if he actually boosted. In this case, he only pays if he boosts.

No. Only self-drafted players.

All of the rewards have been entered. I will post about prospect/player restrictions for TB and WSH shortly.

Hmm, I still gotta pick my staff member.

I love the sound of "Shawn Cronin, NHL head coach" too much to go with anyone else, even though the sensible answer would probably be Thomas Steen. Gotta with with Cronin though.

Justin, here are your restrictions for your prospect.

Total ceiling points available: 1000 (excluding FI) - there are 12 other ceilings
Max ceiling per attribute: 115, minimum ceiling per attribute: 60.
Player must be ex-NHLer (can recreate Lecavalier if you want)
Player will be 20 years old when entered into file and be 50 at every attribute, except penalty, which will be randomly generated between 50-99.
Will use real playing height and weight.
Will be 7POT. Second pot digit to be determined by random number generator 1-9.
Consistency will be set at 65.

Tim, shoot me a PM and we'll discuss how to handle the co-design of your new prospect.

As long as you want, but I imagine it's something you'd want to get a start on.

FWIW, I reserve the right to add additional restrictions as I see fit.
