Well, it may have only been 28 days, but February seemed like the longest month in EHEC in quite some time. The Penguins end the month on a high note, shutting out Tampa Bay 4-0. Brad Stuart picks up two assists and then finds out after the game that he's going from a Cup contender to a team hanging their hopes on ping pong balls. The Panthers' John Gibson throws up a doughnut against the Sabres in a 2-0 win. Roberto Luongo keeps the Canucks in the game with 38 saves, but the Kings are victorious. So, too, are the Sharks, causing Phoenix GM Parker to fire up a bowl. The Leafs keep hurting their draft stock by winning games. The Flames avoid the 3-1 collapse by scoring an empty netter and picking up two impressive road points in Winnipeg. The Habs get a strong effort from Carey Price to hang on in a crucial Northeast Division matchup.

Dennis Wideman goes from hero with the game-tying goal to goat by taking the overtime penalty that propels the Devils to victory. A bad night for the orphans as the Blues and Oilers join the Canucks in the losers' circle. From the unlikely heroes department, Frans Nielsen scores the game winning goal for the Sharks.
