Scott Mayfield's first goal of the season is an overtime game winner, but that's not the story everybody's talking about. EHM reared its ugly head and dealt a serious blow to the Maple Leafs and their future. Taylor Hall suffered a career ending injury at the hands of Anze Kopitar. For Hall, it marks the end of a promising young career. For Kopitar, a repeat offender, it marks a 15-game suspension that will carry over into the playoffs. In other injury news, Jonathan Ericsson's 2012-13 season is over and repeat offender Jamie Benn will miss two games for his transgressions during the Devils' easy win over the Isles. In even more injury news, Tyler Kennedy was injured in the Ducks' 4-3 shootout loss to the Dallas Stars. Kevin Bieksa will sit for the next four games as a result.

In non-injury news, the Jets blew a 2-0 lead, but sacked up in the third period to take two must-have points against the Rangers. The Sharks hammered the Canucks 5-1. The Flames and Hawks continued the trend for the top teams in the West as they had no problems with the Oilers and Wild, respectively. Nashville's shootout win puts them one point behind the Ducks with a game in hand for the eighth and final playoff spot.

I feel we cannot allow this to happen again. I hope that my opinion may carry a little more weight because of my own history with CREI, but this is getting out of hand. Losing two superstar/franchise players in less then four years is not only unrealistic, but catastrophic for any team. I was lucky enough to have a deep team that I could start an effective rebuild with, what the HELL is Toronto going to do? Rebuild during a rebuild?

We voted upon this when it came to Lecav, it was close. I can understand why the original thread had many supporters for CREI. It was an opportunity to inflict a devastating blow upon the clear Cup contender, something some of you couldn't pass up. However, we are currently averaging .75 CREI injuries per season. Are you prepared to be the next guy that get's his teeth kicked in by one of these?

Toronto is losing their BEST player. Is PHX prepared to lose Doan? WSH Datsyuk? NSH Weber? PIT Iginla? Bern is such a sick fuck, he said "CREI add some fun!". How much fun do you think TOR is having right now? All those GMs I called out were the vocal ones when it came to supporting CREI the first time. I'm not surprised to see such a royal douche-bag like Parker on that list ; but, I'd love to here the arguments from the rest of you about how realistic EHM's application of CREI are and how they support the growth of the league.
