How the fuck does Ben Eager have 15 goals?

Trevor Daley's suspended for four games, Dustin Penner is out until the Stanley Cup Finals, if Carolina gets there.

Everyone has a third string goalie, but you're the only one starting him when your 1st and 2nd string goalies are both healthy.

Pat has started Liam Liston 18 times, and he's not even close to being his 3rd string goalie. And I can't start Boucher for 2 fucken games?

I signed him with the intention of sending him to the AHL but I overlooked the fact he not may even be eligible for the AHL playoffs.

1. Liston is better than my AHL goalies, imo. His higher con makes him a more valuable backup than either Larsson or Schwarz. His stats don't reflect that (yet), because the team in front of him, well, sucks. Larsson's stats last year were much better b/c the team was better and we trapped the shit out of everyone all the time.

2. Liston has played over the minimum number of games only b/c Lundqvist has been pulled by EHM from a couple of games.

3. Looks like Scott Stajcer will make his long-delayed NHL debut Saturday night.

Do I smell another rule change coming to keep you happy? I thought we already did that this year. In a simulated league with players with fake attributes, you sure complain a lot about how people spread around their assets (which is the only game to game power people have).

Agree with Quinn. We should just make rules where Brad wins every game, then he'll finally be happy.

People lose, then try and find something that they deem to be the reason and label it unfair/unrealistic/cheap bla bla bla. At this rate, we shouldn't even bother simming the games; whatever team has the best OA rating wins.

wtf are you guys talking about? I don't have specific rules.

You'd lose if you did 70-50-30-20 (which you probably already knew that, hence you went with the 10 and 20 sec shifts)

I'd love to hear your rationale behind putting some of your best players on 10 second and 20 second shift lengths.

It won me 3 games against WPG last year in the playoffs, so yes, it's an advantage.

Plus Justin, you won what was it? 8 games in a row just last month using the almost same line strategy so don't act like you're innocent and have no idea about it. Nice try bud.

So what are you asking? For us to use a strategy we have a high chance of losing with, or to find ANOTHER strategy to beat you with that you don't deem unfair? Newsflash, I predict any strategy you get beaten with will result in you declaring "Those shift lengths were to long/short/unrealistic/weird etc." Why don't instead of crying to Adam, you come up with a COUNTER strategy to it? It's called competing.
Montreal Canadiens wrote: It won me 3 games against WPG last year in the playoffs, so yes, it's an advantage.
So certain strategies are better then others, thus giving certain teams an advantage? *MIND BLOWN* Having good players on your team also is an advantage, should we put rules in place regulating that to?
Montreal Canadiens wrote: Plus Justin, you won what was it? 8 games in a row just last month using the almost same line strategy so don't act like you're innocent and have no idea about it. Nice try bud.
It has been winning me games, and like I said when you complained about it before, TONS of players in the NHL play 6-8 minutes a game. 10-20 sec shifts = 6-10 mins of TOI. Furthermore, we have already restricted so much creativity when it comes to coaching in EHEC for the sake of realism, how far is this really going to go?

I couldn't care less about more rules, all I said was my thoughts out loud. When I saw our matchup, and with me at home, I had a feeling Tim was going to do something retarded (and possibly pull out the win) and that is what happened.

I'm still researching this as there is no way they jump over the boards and jump back on the bench 10 or 20 seconds later. However, everybody I speak to (that has been involved in EHM for decades) all claim to knowing it has some sort of advantage.

Yes, people play 6-8 minutes a night in the NHL, and those people are your 4th line scrubs, not your best players.

Brad, quit your fucking whining.

Mike, you know I had to say something about Boucher. Could I have done it in private? I probably should have. But you're a smart enough guy to know how that looks, especially when you were two points in front of the Islanders before that game. You got shut out, so, luckily, Boucher didn't really factor into the game at all.

Don't give me the Liston argument. That's not a good example at all. Liston is on par with Antti Niemi as a backup. Liston is 71 POT 81 CON. Niemi is 70 POT 80 CON. Nobody has ever bitched about Niemi as a backup. I'd rather have a 71 POT 81 CON goaltender over a guy like Toivonen (78/53) or Schwarz (78/54) or something. Hell, look at Justin Pogge (68/86). Nobody's said anything about that.

If Quick or Fleury were hurt, that's one thing. They're not.

Contextually, it looks like tanking. Two healthy goaltenders and a game against a team you're very close to in the lottery race.

I also want to give you the benefit of the doubt because you've been in the league since the start and have not had a good team. I understand that you want a better pick and I'd rather you, a loyal GM, get a better pick than orphaned teams or teams with inactive GMs. I'm rooting for you to lose so you can get a franchise-caliber player for the third straight draft. But I don't want it to be because of something looks that questionable.

I should have put LaBarbera in when I saw Boucher as the starter. From the way the game played out, it probably wouldn't have mattered. If you want to use Boucher and Pat wants to use Stacjer, all's fair in love and war. But this is not a path that we want to go down. Ottawa's been playing Brian Elliott as well. I put Leclaire back in for a couple of games because I was tired of watching Elliott post a 3.50 GAA. Ottawa sent lines and Elliott was back in net.

There were also tanking allegations that we looked at last season regarding the healthy scratching of Taylor Hall and Stanislav Galiev, which I have to consider when looking at Boucher starting. While we ultimately decided not to impose any penalties, it's relevant here.

Mike, I'm not going to punish you for Boucher here, but I'd advise against doing it again. He's a 72 OA 52 CON goaltender. He has no business starting on a team with two healthy goaltenders.

All my post come across so angry lol.....

To my knowledge, they shift starts and after they meet the set shift length, the next opportunity to change they do. They don't just drop the puck in the offensive zone after 10 seconds and skate off the ice.

Just because a bunch of people say something, doesn't make it true. That's a fallacy. If these experts want to come on and give some legitimate documentation as to why its unfair, I'd consider it. Until then, I got one cup ring and one presidents trophy that tells me I know enough about EHM to comment on it. :P (chael sonnen reference anyone?)

As far as playing really good players on short shift lengths, if the league wants to make up some formula, fine with me. My 3rd and 4th line guys are the ones who play the short shifts, not Seguin or REPIK!

Exactly so how are they playing that much when their shift lengths are so short.

Olli Jokinen played almost 20 minutes on a 20 second shift length.

I've moved John Moore all around my lineup. I've seen guys hide bad DF forwards on the 3rd and 4th line just to be able to use them on the powerplay. I don't see what's wrong with any of that. This whole notion of numbering lines 1-2-3-4 is pretty unrealistic. NHL teams have a fourth line and a first line. That's about it and any line can match up against any line. Shift lengths are NEVER universal in the NHL. Some guys stay out there for 1:30 while the fourth liners are out there until they get a chance to change or if the other team changes and the coach needs to get them off the ice to match up.

EHM does a good job rotating through the lines most of the time.

It's not like 50-20-20-10 is the same as 90-90-10-10. I don't see any issue.

Like I said, I'm to the point where next year's going to just be Thunderdome. No rules. No cap. No line restrictions.

We'll see what everybody likes best. Rules and regulations or free-for-all.

For some reason, I'm hearing a Cinderella song in my mind right now.

because i have had him on "finesse" training all season....and you didn't even know about that option. you have to highlight the player, change his training from "attack" to "defense", (hold control) to "rest", to "attack" hold control and "finesse" will appear in the menu.

Walters - too bad this isn't the NBA....you could tank for four years like the Cavs are going to do to get this kid (Andrew? Wiggins) who was 15 when they started and nobody is gonna say boo.
