Re: NY Islanders
Like Pat said. Up to 23. But it seems like the chances dwindle as the player gets older.IslandersGM wrote:is Jenik not too late to pot boost? just looking at the scout says 20? i'm prob wrong and have the cap space so no worries.

Re: NY Islanders
Christopher Gibson
Term: 2 years
GM proposal: $2,250,000; comps: Pickard, Rask
Agent proposal: $4,000,000; comps: none
Agent's proposal was pathetic (no comps, no explanation), so I would like to rule closer to the GM because of the time he put into building a case. The fact that it's a two-year bridge deal and not a long-term contract favors the team as well. However, he has the attributes be a starter and is worth more than $2.25, especially after a much inferior goalie was awarded $2.2 (yes, still bitter). Gibson's stats aren't great, but he was behind a poor team.
Rask is underpaid from an outdated financial policy and a poorer goalie. Pickard's a good comp; went through arbitration, same age, slightly worse POT yet makes up for it with a very good CON. John Gibson would also have been a good comp; definitely better in terms of POT/CON, recent hearing, $4.45 awarded.
With all this in mind, I rule $3.05M for Gibson. You can accept/reject this award.

Re: NY Islanders
Offer ELC to
G Calvin Peterson
D Carl Dahlstrom
while both are 19 both turn 20 before the end of the calender year Calvin in just a couple of weeks. This fits the U 20 rule as they do not count to the 3 players.
