David Elsner will spend the summer rehabbing from a vicious hit laid by Nicklas Grossman. Grossman was given a game-generated 11-game suspension for his transgression. Chris Kunitz will miss St. Louis's next game as a result of an incident with James Neal.

Home teams go 6-for-7 tonight as the only home team to fall is the St. Louis Blues in breakaways. Life without Taylor Hall isn't very pretty for the Leafs, as they get more than doubled up in shots in a 4-1 loss to the Kings. The bipolar Blue Jackets beat a good team tonight as they down the Sharks 3-2 thanks to a rare quality game from Pekka Rinne. The Bruins take care of the Coyotes with a 3-2 decision. Insult and injury for the Rangers tonight as David Elsner will return midway through training camp next season on a night where the Rags are blanked by Malcolm Subban. A third period goalie brawl in the Sunshine State is an ugly ending to a dominating win by the Bolts.

Meh. Can't say I expected much better, given how brutal the test sims were. Nothing from Cogliano, Getzlaf or Thornton, and of course a PP goal is the difference when the home team gets 0 penalties against, but it's better than a 5-1 blowout or another listless 12 shot effort.

And of course, there's a full-on line brawl with a goalie fight in TB and all Justin can think about is his fucking Rankin obsession.

All the way from 2 points ahead in 1st place, to 2 points back in... 2nd place in the league. What a collapse.
