Kyle Quincey: Exercise Team Option
Here are the extension offers I came up with using the "contract_calculator" spreadsheet:
Viktor Tikhonov: $2,787,500 per year for 3 years (Two-way + Team Option)
Ricard Blidstrand: $650,000 per year for 3 years (Two-way + Team Option)
Max Gardiner: $600,000 per year for 3 years (Two-way + Team Option)
Chris Brown: $650,000 per year for 3 years (Two-way + Team Option)
Mitch Wahl: $650,000 per year for 3 years (Two-way + Team Option)
Scott Darling: $620,000 per year for 3 years (Two-way + Team Option)
Sam Grist: $1,350,000 per year for 2 years (Two-way + Team Option)

Re: Arizona Coyotes
Post options here so they don't get lost in the shuffle.
Tikhonov, Blidstrand, and Brown are correct. Gardiner shows up at $800,000 in the updated calculator so I'll double check that.
Darling's a goalie so his contract will be decided through arbitration or comparables.
Two-way and team options have been removed under the new CBA.

I just posted the options under the appropriate thread. Can you give me a link to the updated calculator?
Re: Arizona Coyotes
Here are the new contract extension offers. Correct me if I am wrong.
Shane Doan: $6,450,000 for maximum length (is it still 4 years?)
Tomas Kaberle: $4,106,250 for maximum length
Viktor Tikhonov: $2,887,500 for maximum length
Ricard Blidstrand: $650,000 for maximum length
Chris Brown: $650,000 for maximum length
Mitch Wahl: $400,000 for maximum length
Viktor Baldayev: Entry-level contract (then assign to AHL as U-20)
Need new salary for the following players
Sam Grist: The table throws back "DEFAULT".
Max Gardiner: I get $650,000, not the $800,000 you suggested.
Brennan Serville: $1,950,000?
Justin Weller
Mackenzie Maceachern

Re: Arizona Coyotes
Maximum length is seven years for RFA and UFA.
Tikhonov is at $2,787,500.
DEFAULT means the player gets the default they're asking for in EHM.
Gardiner will be offered $800,000 as per the updated calculator.

You might want to reconsider these contract lengths given that you'll be on the hook for their deals even after they retire.AP21 (ARZ) wrote:Here are the new contract extension offers. Correct me if I am wrong.

I know you guys are doing a ton of work right now, but is the rulebook going to be updated soon? I am having a hard time figuring out where the rules are. All the different threads are a bit confusing, especially for a new guy.
Shane Doan - $6,450,000 for 5 years
Tomas Kaberle - $4,106,250 for 6 years
Viktor Tikhonov - $$2,787,500 for 7 years
Ricard Blidstrand - $650,000 for 7 years

Re: Arizona Coyotes
It already says in the rulebook that cap hits continue to apply for retired players, so signing anyone past age 38 is a serious risk that you should strongly reconsider.
Re: Arizona Coyotes
In this case, I was referring to the maximum contract length, which has been changed from 4 to 7, but hasn't been updated in the rulebook. As for Doan and Kaberle, I figure they will retire at 42, since they have all the required skills and I plan to use them a whole lot. Am I missing something?SharksGM wrote:It already says in the rulebook that cap hits continue to apply for retired players, so signing anyone past age 38 is a serious risk that you should strongly reconsider.

It was just updated this offseason. You're missing the fact that Doan and Kaberle are going to be terrible when they're 39, let alone 42. But anyway it's up to you.

Re: Arizona Coyotes
It depends on a players POT and CON from what I read. Martin St. Louis is a good example of a useful player at 39. I signed Gaborik to a seven year deal with the idea he can contribute for all seven years.
Most recent file here.
Re: Arizona Coyotes
I would like to sign Luca Hischier to an entry-level contract. Can I wait until the last day of the preseason or will he have to consider the offer in EHM?

Re: Arizona Coyotes
He will consider the offer. We don't automatically enter ELCs like we do free agent contracts. He'll sign it, but it may take a few days to go through. (But we'll probably have a few days between the end of the pre-season and the start of the regular season.)AP21 (ARZ) wrote:I would like to sign Luca Hischier to an entry-level contract. Zykov already has a contract. I invited him to camp.
Re: Arizona Coyotes
Please assign Valentin Zykov to the AHL (U-20) and make sure he has entry-level contract. It still doesn't show in EHM.

Re: Arizona Coyotes
Awards have been determined in the Thomas Greiss and Matt McNeely arbitration cases.
Thomas Greiss
Terms: 2 years
GM comps & proposal: 750K; no comps
Agent comps & proposal: 1.0M; Stolarz, Murphy, Quick
Greiss is a competent backup, no more, no less. He's a dime a dozen in this league, but does have some value in case of an injury to his betters. He deserves a slight raise, bringing him in line with his status and his peers: 850K, 2 years.
Matt McNeely
Terms: 4 years
GM comps & proposal: 1.7M; Rask, M.Smith, Bishop
Agent comps & proposal: 2.25M; Halak, Elliott, Helenius
A solid backup on a very good team, McNeely is due a large raise from his ridiculously low ELC. But how much? He deserves a quality bridge contract to see what he can do over the next few seasons, and as such I award him 2.0M for 4 years, since I think he has more value than Brian Elliott, but Halak/Rask range.
Alex, you can accept/reject these awards.
