I think your GM office page has to be set up or something....I believe Quinn is the only one who can do it and he's on vacation.

Something's definitely gone wonky with GM Office. We're trying to figure out what's what and will let you know when it's fixed.

It's working again, but I did the same thing an hour an hour ago to fix it. It seems to work for a bit, and revert back.
Trying to figure it out.

Re: GM Office
So clearly I haven't uploaded something right, or did something to cause this while I was figuring out the first problem I had uploading the zip/EHM file(s).
My apologies.
Quinn, the former COL GM who designed the site, has been contacted. It is Thanksgiving, so we might have to wait a bit before he can take a look. Whether we have a short delay in the simming schedule, or revert to using e-mail for tonight's sim, we will let you know well before tonight's 9PM deadline for instructions.
Thank you for your patience.

Re: GM Office
Justin, I don't think it's your problem; I think it's one of the php files on the ftp site that's causing the trouble.
I can get to everything in GMO now, but most of my lineup isn't showing up.
Bear with us folks, we're getting there....

I think we were always able to get into GMO, it was NHL/AHL Lineups weren't displaying properly. Training was messed up to, but I could manage my staff.Commish Bub(NYR) wrote:Justin, I don't think it's your problem; I think it's one of the php files on the ftp site that's causing the trouble.

Re: GM Office
There's something messed up in players.ehm, because it's not reading past player #155. Someone around Derek Joslin is the issue. Either that or there's a bug in get_player_attributes.php. The roster pages are also affected.
For now just leave it alone until we can figure out why it's stuck on that player.

Re: GM Office
Okay. I don't think it's players.ehm because when I re-up it to the "files" directory it makes GM Office work fine until someone tries to demote/promote a player (or maybe do anything at all).SharksGM wrote:There's something messed up in players.ehm, because it's not reading past player #155. Re: GM Office
Quinn's taking a look at it.
If it doesn't get fixed tonight, folks can send lines files to the league email at commissioner@ehechockey.com.
There are only four games tonight; if enough GMs from that set of eight teams have trouble, however, we may postpone the sim until tomorrow.

Re: GM Office
The problem is Kent Simpson. The two lines in the file:
59 73 74 72 78 74 1 21 1 1 1
1992 26 3 900000 2 2010 3 27 21
are a single line in http://www.ehechockey.com/files/players.ehm for some reason:
59 73 74 72 78 74 1 51 1 1 1 1992 26 3 900000 2 2010 3 27 21
After that everything gets misaligned and data gets read from the wrong lines. I'm not entirely sure why just yet.

Well, my GMO is working fine now. Access to everything and all players are showing.
Anyone else still having problems? Probably fixing Simpson fixed everything.

Re: GM Office
I re-uploaded the players.ehm from EHEC.zip into files/ and it seems to work fine. I demoted/promoted a player, changed my lines and nothing strange happened.
It seems likely that it's something to do with Kent Simpson. Was he manually traded recently? Ottawa, are you trying to demote him?

Re: GM Office
Yes I in-putted the TOR/OTT file involving Kent Simpson.
I in-putted him IN EHM, not through editing players.ehm.
Should I not be doing that? I would prefer to do it in-game since it updates their history tab, and also I avoid touching part of the savefile manually.

Re: GM Office
Either way is fine; I usually do it through EHM, but sometimes if I'm already in the file, I'll do it that way.
I'll play around with the file tonight before the sim and see if doing other trades mucks up anything.

Re: GM Office
Anyway I don't see an obvious reason why Kent Simpson is messing things up, but if Quinn is still looking at it, things that output newlines should probably write PHP_EOL instead of "\n" ("\n" is a new line character on Linux; on Windows it's "\r\n").
Also I'm not really sure why only one of the functions in display_edit_roster_profarmjr.php outputs a new line character, it seems like they all should?

Hmm, well it's good to know my fears of destroying the game-file haven't come true......yet.
Sorry about the hold-up boys; I'm not sure how much of a role my EHM incompetence played here, but we'll get things back on track with everyone we have here helping out.

What did you do with him exactly? Change positions or training?MartyFromOTTAWA wrote:Ok now its fucked up because of Mason Raymond
It's not inexplicable, everyone who comes after Raymond in the file is missing.Dallas Stars GM wrote:Jhonas Enroth is (for unexplainable reason ) missing on my team
The more worrisome part is that the lines for the player after Raymond (Dustin Kohn) got messed up too. Kohn is a shitty UFA but it could happen to a better player some time...

Is a player getting traded in-game to cause for this?
Or is it GM's trying to edit a player "waiting to join his new team" in-game?

Ok, this is bizarre. I'll have Quinn take a look and see why this happens sometimes, but not most of the time.
Maybe the problem is YOU, Ottawa! I think you're going to have to stick with your lineup that way it is for the rest of the season. Sorry.

Re: GM Office
I believe Marty tried to change Raymond's position (which isn't really needed anymore, but never mind).
I fixed players.ehm. I also uploaded a fix that should prevent failing to write a new line when editing a player through the roster page. It should guard against accidentally writing two line breaks too, but if anyone spots any issues with the GM office, please check if the player you were trying to modify is still ok in http://www.ehechockey.com/files/players.ehm. Everything I tried in my own GM office works but then I never had Marty's problem in the first place so

Re: GM Office
Just a note, I had to edit the players.ehm to set Tony Lagerstrom's alternate position back to RW. Somehow it had been switched to C, so his main and alternate position were both set to C.
If anyone notices one of their players' possible positions changing, let me know. I tried to reproduce the bug by changing my player's positions in the office and nothing seemed off. I don't see anything obviously wrong in the code either.
I think there is a possibility that if two people try to do something in the GM office at the exact same time, one of the changes might not go through... or only go partly through. I'm not sure about that.

Before someone says anything about my 20 sec illegal line....
2 days ago, Julien and i were talking , and he was showing me about the new feature in GM office in regards to HAG/NZT time limits......well i tried the 20 sec first line thing and told him that that was still able to be done.....roll ahead to yesterday morning, i redid my lines and didnt look back on it until Julien just messaged me saying i had a 20 sec first line......so i dont know wtf happened.......I just dont want to be blamed for illegal lines lol.......And i am smart enough to know that you dont use D&C or R&G on the road.......which is what my lines should for this last game
