Short night tonight, and relatively uneventful: no injuries, no suspensions. Easy file work.
Both Buffalo and Detroit fall victim to the first shot in OT curse. The Sabres can't hold a 4-2 lead, and waste the first career goal (and fight) of Lucas Lessio. Daniel Winnik assists on the GTG and then scores the GWG. Detroit scores the equalizer with the net empty, but then gives out in OT, as Adam Gilmour puts home a pass from rising star Nate MacKinnon to win it for the Rangers. And Anaheim racks up 21 shots on 9 power plays and shows that maybe they can win without their new stud Scott Gomez.

Good battle there but should have come up with the win with a 2 goal lead late in the second
Lessio leaves a nice impression though...

Re: November 5, 2014
So of my team's 8 wins, 5 have been in extra time with two of those settled in the skills competition. Clearly, there's no luck involved in my record.
Columbus, Colorado, and Washington are all still over the roster minimum.
Do we round down for contracts? Just noticed Gomez's signing is for $5.5M when 75% would be $5,517,857.25. Could I have done Bieksa for $4.1M?

Julien is correct.
And, Buffalo -- you should know EHM dispenses strange justice in third periods! Along with shootout wins, I should keep a stat for blown third period 2- and 3-goal leads.

Currently:
ANA is 1 over the roster max (with Gomez signing)
WPG is over the cap (65,097,500)
I will also input current trades before tonight's sim; so some more of you will need to make some roster moves before tonight's sim.

ANA, CBS, CHI, COL, PHI -- over or under roster max/min
CHI, TOR -- over cap
All should be easy fixes.

Yeah I knew a little bit about that twist, but didn't happen to me this season. Well on the wrong side of it.Commish Bub(NYR) wrote:Julien is correct.

Anything I can do so it doesn't happen again Mr. commish... if you know what I mean
