To Winnipeg:
Austin Watson (70)
STL 3rd 2017
To Chicago:
WPG 1st 2017
WPG 1st 2019
Jack Glover (82)
Josh Birkholz (51)
I accept. Been after Watson for a while. Gives me an upgrade in the top six and is signed cheap long term.

Re: CHI/WPG
Even if Watson is reliable and has a good contract for a long time, I decided to finally trade him.
I get picks for the future which continues somewhat of a long rebuild for me.
I believe Watson will play a big role for Winnipeg. ALways tough to trade to a division rival but both headed in different direction.
Thanks for the deal.
Kepp the offers coming guys !

I found this trade sitting in a private forum instead of Accepted Trades.
Jesus, what a trade. Luckily that 2017 1st "only" turned out to be #6 OV Casey Mittelstadt.

As the guy who made that trade, Watson had 12 goals and 21 points in our Cup-winning playoff run so that was worth it.
How did WPG end up with the sixth-worst record only a year later though?! I expected them to be late picks at the time.

Ah yes, the playoffs that broke poor Pat forever, and cemented Ted's place as EHEC's best worst GM ever. It's just funny that Watson's waiver wire fodder now and only ever cracked 30 points once.AvalancheGM wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:30 am As the guy who made that trade, Watson had 12 goals and 21 points in our Cup-winning playoff run so that was worth it.
Florida's the only team that seems to be able to run itself.AvalancheGM wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:30 am How did WPG end up with the sixth-worst record only a year later though?! I expected them to be late picks at the time.
