Ovechkin's hat trick isn't enough as Boston wins a crucial game and moves into the top spot in the East, the Blue Jackets fail to lock up the Central Division as the Blues steamroll them, and Minnesota wins an enormous game against 7th place Edmonton; a Minnesota win or a Flames and Sharks loss seals a playoff berth for the Wild.

Well, at least Ovechkin wasn't hurt this time.

Well, so much for those playoff hopes. Maybe it's better this way since I'm going on vacation in a few weeks, which is right on cue by Sharks standards.

Solid win on the road against a 50-win team. Couple of tough home games coming up against Carolina and Buffalo before a regular season finale in Washington.

Zach Hamill continues to make his case for the playoff roster. Now I have to find out where to put Kessel.

Remaining games for President's Trophy contenders:
LA 114pts - @ANA, v.PHO, v.EDM, @COL
BOS 112pts - v.BUF, v.CAR, @WAS
WAS 110pts - @PIT, v. ATL, v.BOS
TB 108pts - v.CAR, v.OTT, v.FLA, @FLA

Remaining games for #7 and #8 playoff seeds in East:
OTT 87pts @FLA, @TB, v.BUF
MTL 88pts @NYI, @CAR, v.TOR
BUF 86pts v.NYR, @BOS, @OTT, @NJ

Being in the same division as all 3, I think Buffalo is the best and Montreal has the easiest road. BUF @ OTT will be huge.
