Talked to my brother this morning and he told me that he has 53 contracts and Capitals have space and they are in some sort of retool-rebuild process. The team is not good enough to compete against strongest teams so Capitals have to think about the future. Figured out this deal helps Capitals. 3rd round pick is pretty solid and Gavrikov can be used in NHL as 7th, 8th defenseman. Anderson and Rydberg are OK depth players. Most likely in the AHL though. Bouramann has been left usnigned, 6th round pick, doesn't have any future in the NHL.
