I've had interest in Kotkaniemi, like him a lot and have gone back and forth about dealing him, but Hischier is one of my favourite players in real life. We both get something we're after, as Hischier gives us an injection of offense while Kotkaniemi gives Calgary a solid hit & grind top-six forward with cost certainty for two more years after this one.

I had a weird attachment to keeping the brothers together, but this has been a bad season and there is another cap crunch incoming next year. It's a mostly sideways move, but with cost certainty for an extra 2 years.
