NYR approves. I must admit, LA and I talked a lot. Like a lot, alot over the months. Rick Nash is an absolute stud, and still have 4+ years in the tank. His cap hit is high because of his high skill. When LA started talking Johansen in the deal, while I like Ryan, it fit because that's right where Nash will slot in. Obviously for a player like Nash, I have to say goodbye to Liljegren, a fantastic young defenseman. Barron was just drafted this year in 2nd round, and is slated to be a very good defensive-dman in his own right.

With all these star players, I need to move salary. Really like Nash attribute, one of the best in the game, but he’s no longer young, that’s the reason I trade him. With Lilljegren I get a very good top 3 defenseman, a hole on my team. Johansen might just pass in L.A., but he got solid numbers and Barron, a good prospect, was on my radar when I try to get a 2nd rd in this year draft. I got some good talk with other GM, but NY Rangers GM have the best offer.
