Trade Frenzy!

On a day where there were 7 trades across the NHL, Anaheim was involved in 2 of them. GM Duckduckdeke treated himself to a couple of birthday presents. First he traded away a promising young player in Mitchell Vande Sompel who has already put up 114 points in his short career so far. In return the Ducks received big name player Leon Draisaitl from Philadelphia, who has struggled to perform up to expectations for most of his career. Time will tell if this was a good move for the Ducks or not. Anaheim also made a trade with Colorado where they received the young goalie Stuart Skinner in return for defenseman Xavier Bernard. This move seems to make sense as the Ducks have no young goalies in the organization and 2 UFA goalies in the NHL. It will be interesting to see if Skinner ends up on the NHL lineup to start the season or if he is given more games in the AHL. All in all I think this was a good day for the Ducks during a crazy day across the league.
