Palfy Take Over - Weight Demoted

The Islanders have demoted Doug Weight from Head Coach to Scout of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers this morning. Weight had amassed a record of 128-149-25 and with the Islanders dropping another game to the 'Hawks 6-2 the axe drop was inevitable.

This season the Islanders took off from a shaky start and were at one point near the top of the league. But back to back losses to cross river rivals the Devils a tie and now this most recent loss dropped the Islanders to 10-9-2-2 after 23 games for 22 points. Good for last in the division.

"It was time for a shake up" GM Chris stated after making the call. We thank Doug for his services as Head Coach, we know he will do well in his scouting.

"Ziggy is a stand up guy, always has been. We hope this shakes things up."

Zigmund Palfy will get to test his metal tonight as the Islanders play in Dallas. The Stars have struggled this year after winning the cup but they will still be a tough test.
