With their OT victory yesterday over the rival Flyers, the Rangers have secured the Atlantic division for the second time since GM-Nick took over in 2019.
"This was a big deal to this locker room after all the injuries the guys have battled through," said Jack Eichel, a big team leader and one of the few that hasn't missed time this year. "Now our job is to win Round 1 for MDC".
"Yah I was pissed." Laughed Val Nichushkin, a huge new addition this year, himself missing 13 games, yet still leading the team in goals (Editor's Note - and PIMs). "I just got back and he goes on a 4 week vacation. He ain't getting off that easy."
"I didn't want to tinker much" GM Nick answered about the lack of change at the deadline. "We changed a ton early on, have youth, experience, grit and skill. It's on them. Let's hope for a deep run."
GM Nick missed the playoffs on the last day of the season in 2019, and since, hasn't missed, albeit usually with some big changes year to year. |
