2020 Preseason Article Rewards

Many moons ago I promised rewards for writing articles, so after much painful deliberation, here we are. There are two categories of bonuses for which you can earn rewards. Articles written any time from the beginning of this year through the end of October qualify, so if you haven't written anything, you have another month to spread it out. If you already have, then good on ya mate. I suggest posting articles on the forums (so the peanut gallery can comment) and through GMCP to advertise them on the front page.

You may earn ceiling boosts by writing one of the following types of articles: draft review; top N prospects; training camp prospect review; prospect season preview. Ceiling boosts are available to non-first round picks from the last 4 drafts; POT/CON boosters are excluded as they already won the lottery. Credits applied for boost depend on pick position: 31-45 =1, 46-60 =2, 61-75 =3, 76-90 =4, 91+ =5. You can earn each boost once (so two articles is all you need to write), and there is a max of one boost per player (can't give both to the same guy, or to a guy you traded for who already got a boost).

Coach Made Me Practice This: Any ceiling boosted by 2 + x credits; i.e. +3 for a #31 pick and +7 for #91.

There are two categories of general boosts which you can earn by writing any type of article about your team or EHEC and apply to any player on your roster, pro or farm. Again, max one boost of each type, so (for now*) two articles are sufficient to qualify:

In The Best Shape of My Life: +5 STR, -5 SK to one player.
The Power of New Friendship: Pick two players to get +5 EN each and optionally switch one click number to match the other.

These boosts are meant to be meaningful enough to motivate y'all but modest enough to not be gamebreaking, so enjoy. Once you have written qualifying articles, post links to them here and claim your bonuses at any time.

I see this includes hitting, but what if a player's hitting ceiling is their worst and effectively won't change due to their height? Does the ceiling boost then go to their second worst ceiling?

Yes. It's hard to lug around those 10 lbs of new muscle.

But seriously, you probably only ever want to give it to a younger player. There are quite a few forwards especially who got called up with 60-65 strength and could use the boost.

No. You can't teach size.

Yeah, I have a bunch of smurfs I couldn't use it on. Shouldn't be used on any defensive ceiling with short guys unless their CH/PO is already at 100.

It's whether or not two players "click" together (ie have chemistry together). Most people ignore it and it's arguable how much of an effect it really has. My understanding is that when players of the same click play together (same line), it can increase their CONs (the number in the file doesn't go up, but EHM will consider the CON to be higher than it is when simulating a game).

Definitely not a game changer, but it presumably can help, if every so slightly.

The end of October is quickly approaching. If you want some juicy rewards, get those articles in, and at least as importantly - post the links here to advertise them.

Since the national holiday of Black Friday is approaching, I also have two special limited-time only deals:

1. The deadline will be extended to 10 PM EST on Sunday Nov. 1st, after which I will enter the valid award requests,
2. You may also vote for last season's rewards to earn a credit for a general boost.

If you have already qualified for all of the boosts, have no fear; there will be another (smaller) round later in the season, so vote away.
